Penwortham Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1923 on its original site at Manor Lane in Penwortham where four red shale tennis courts and a wooden Pavilion were constructed.  The Club flourished and gained an enviable reputation in the Preston area.   

In 2004 after tireless effort searching for a suitable relocation site the Club took the decision to sell its existing premises and use the proceeds from this sale to build a new state-of-the-art facility at Blackhurst Avenue in Hutton.  

The Club is now offers something for all tennis enthusiasts in the area and has an open membership policy.  Situated on a private road in the beautiful countryside of Hutton, surrounded by open fields, the Club now boasts the best outdoor tennis facilities in the area including:  

4 Floodlit artificial grass tennis courts with viewing areas and summer house

A Coaching court including practice wall facility

A modern, spacious and comfortable Pavilion complete with viewing conservatory, changing rooms, catering and social facilities including a licensed bar

Ample off road car parking

All of these facilities have been designed to allow disabled use
